2020 Scholarship Recipients
Michaela Di Palmo
Throughout her time at Avon High School, Michaela has been involved in various organizations. She was apart of the Avon Marching Black and Gold marching clarinet freshman through junior year and drum major her senior year. She also played bass clarinet in Avon’s Wind Symphony as well as sung with the Avon Chamber Singers. Outside of the arts, she served in the Avon School and Community Ambassador Program (ASCAP) sophomore through senior year, serving as Vice President junior year and President senior year. In her 3 years with ASCAP she volunteered nearly 400 hours to the community. She was also apart of the Avon chapter of the National Honor Society, AIM mentoring program, and Student Government House of Representatives. Outside of school she works at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA in childcare. She also completed a music therapy internship with Embracing Abilities Inc., where she decided that she wanted to become a music therapist. Michaela will be attending IUPUI Honor’s College majoring in Music Therapy as well as minoring in Health Psychology and Sociology.

Prabhvir Lakhan
Prabhvir will be attending Indiana University next year, and will be majoring in neuroscience with the goal of going to medical school after his undergraduate degree. In his time at Avon High School, he was the President and founder of an Avon High School chapter of Bring Change 2 Mind. Furthermore, he was a part of the Avon Echo, the high school newspaper, for two years, and was a managing editor for the Avon Echo. Lastly, he also took part in Avon's Computer Science Honor Society. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports especially football and basketball along with reading books

Madison Bruce
Madison will be attending Indiana University Bloomington in the fall to major in Human Development and Family Studies on a Pre-Med path. She was extremely involved in Avon’s Choir and Theatre Department. She has been in Allegros, Chamber Singers, Accents, and Attraction. For her senior year, she was elected as Co-President of Accents Show Choir. Madison was honored to be a lead in Avon’s production of “The Drowsy Chaperone”. She was a class officer all four years of high school and enjoyed uniting the school through Student Government’s events. She was a member in National Honor Society, Thespian Troupe 8320, and LifeSong. She is very eager to get to Bloomington and get involved!
